FORDHAM UNIVERSITY LEAK DETECTION PROJECT
Location: Bronx, NY
In response to an emergency on the Fordham campus in the Bronx, ACS Underground Solutions conducted a leak detection
survey on a dual temperature underground PVC jacketed plastic system. The system ran more than 2,000 feet from the main boiler plant to the west side of campus.
Our GPR (ground penetrating radar) field crew checked the underground utility plans for accuracy. The ACS crew marked
out all the lines and confirmed each line’s depth and direction. Then our leak field service team used above ground microphones along the marked out area. They discovered a 3GPM leak.
By successfully locating the leak under the main service road, ACS saved the university time and money. The excavation crew knew exactly where to dig and could efficiently repair the leak.
